5/19 From the Club to the Mat ~ A Yoga Dance Experience

A yoga dance celebration like no other! Join Cristi Christensen for a fun freeing night of rocking DJ music, ecstatic yoga and dance. Class opens with meditation moves into yoga asana, culminates in a full-on dance party, and ends with a sweet cool down and savasana. Time to get out of your head, let the music take your body over and move and groove from your heart!
5/20 Core Awakening Yoga

Many people have become disconnected from the core of their own being. When this happens we lose a sense of power and awareness of who we are. Through breath work, meditation, yoga asana, and specifically designed core exercises you will reignite your physical and energetic connection to your own sacred flame. As you strengthen your vessel you will gain the courage to reclaim you power and your voice, so that you can truly shine your light into the world.

In the Core Awakening Yoga Workshop, we will put equal emphasis on the both the physical and energetic power center of the body. Class will begin with mediation and breath work to connect with the muscles of the core and the energetic body.

As we explore the anatomy of the energetic and physical core, we will move through a variety of exercises that will work your core from every angle within a vinyasa flow. You will learn how to cultivate core awareness, integration, and strength inside your yoga practice, and take this integration into your standing balance poses and arms balances. This workshop will guide you to connect to your power, confidence and sense self-esteem thru kriya work, meditation and visualization.

5/21 Core Barre Fusion

Core Barre Fusion brings together elements of pilates, barre work, cardio intervals, and stretching using yoga asanas. In this workshop we will work the entire body while keeping a strong emphasis on the physical core. Students will use their own bodyweight for resistance to strengthen, tone, firm, lift and stretch every major muscle group of the body. In this high energy, non-impact workout you will discover how to bring core awareness and support into everything you do and strengthen your body and mind from the inside out! Have fun and be challenged with a variety of exercises to sculpt the arms, lean the legs, chisel the abs and lift the butt, as you gain strength, increase stamina and improve your posture.

You will learn the benefits of core strength and awareness, enabling you to reduce the risk of injury by gaining a better sense of core integration. The is the perfect cross training that can be integrated into your other practices, and will help you enhance everything else you do.
The workshop is inspired by the original barre class at Exhale Spa's Core Fusion. Cristi Christensen is a former lead teacher trainer for Exhale Mind Body Spa.

About Cristi

A former elite-level gymnast and platform diver, Cristi trained with the US Olympic diving team as a young adult. After an injury cut her Olympic dreams short, Cristi shifted her focus to helping others improve their level of fitness through personal training, Pilates, Core Fusion, and yoga. After earning her degree in Kinesiology, Cristi studied extensively for over 10 years with world-renowned teachers including Saul David Raye, Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, Elisabeth Halfpapp, and Fred DeVito.

Taking a class with Cristi involves the perfect melange of inspiration with athleticism. Your body and soul will respond to her unique and holistic approach to teaching yoga. All levels of your being will be transformed and awakened — physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Cristi’s bright energy permeates her teaching, creating a dynamic and unique practice that imbues her students with potent vitality. She spreads this energy across the globe leading workshops and retreats and has been faculty on numerous international yoga festivals, teacher training programs, and conferences. Currently, Cristi is shaking up the yoga world by integrating yoga and dance with live DJ’d house music during her invigorating “Deep Exhale” events.
